Must Have Gifts

3 December 2011 671 views 2 Comments

This Christmas, the hottest “must have gifts” at the Vineyard are not the latest gadgets or recent fashions. Instead, we want to help meet urgent needs right here in our church, around Blount County, and in Haiti.

Just a little bit from us can go a long way when we work together. Here’s how you can help:

  1. Buy a “Must Have Gift” at the Vineyard & receive a gift tag to hang on your tree. The tag includes info about how your gift has helped. OR…
  2. Take a gift tag to show friends & family. Ask them to give a “Must Have Gift” instead of getting you another pair of argyle socks.
Check out these tabs for information on this year’s “Must Have Gifts.”

Haiti

Blount County natives Michael & Andrea Brewer started ReachHaiti Ministries to care for orphans and plant churches in Haiti. We want to help their ministry in the following ways:

  • Bunk bed for orphanage: $125
  • Share of $8,000 Generator: $250

Bindi's Ears

Bindi’s Ears

Bindi is an eight-year-old girl in our church family who has severe hearing loss in both ears. Her hearing aids help, but she needs an FM System that will revolutionize her school experience and allow her to use a computer, listen to stories read by her parents, watch movies, and even talk on the phone.

The FM System is not covered by Bindi’s insurance, and her family needs about $3,000 to get the system for her. Would you consider buying a share of Bindi’s FM System?

  • Small share: $25
  • Medium share: $100
  • Large share: $250

Elderly Care

Elderly Care in Blount County

Blount County Community Action Agency is a public, charitable, non-profit that has served the elderly, disabled, and low income people of Blount County for 45 years. We want to help them serve the elderly in our community and make sure that none are overlooked, especially during the Christmas season. Here’s how you can help:

  • One week of Meals on Wheels: $30
  • Homemaking services: $70

Is the church planning to organize group missionary trips to Haiti or do we need to contact the Brewers independently?

We’re organizing trips! We’ll post more info as plans starting taking shape. You’re more than welcome to contact them directly through their website if you want :-)
